Palpable grief and anxiety has gripped Uhuala, Umuada community in Avutu, Obowo local government area of Imo State, as 24-year old Miss Chioma Onukwuwe mysteriously died not long after a bird reportedly perched on her head. The woman pictured above was accused of attempting to kidnap three primary school pupils in the Ekoro area of Abule-Egba, Lagos yesterday May 6th. Eye-witnesses claim the woman stopped the kids, who were aged 7-10 years as they were going to school, and asked to take them to school. Then a female hawker in the area, suspecting the woman was up to no good, alerted others in the area who then surrounded the woman and started asking her questions. They say the woman claimed they were her children but couldn't give their names and the direction she was taking them wasn't where their school was...plus the children said they didn't know her and before anyone could stop it, they descended on the woman. Residents of Olufowobi Street, Ketu, Lagos, were thrown into confusion after an eight-year-old girl, Amarachi Abakwam, was found tied up and brutalised under the bed of a policeman attached to Police Mobile Force 22. It was learnt that the policeman, Augustine Gbuchenge, with Force number 400823, lived in the same compound with Amarachi’s family. IT was a shameful death for a 70 years old man identified as David, yesterday, when he slumped and died after having marathon sex with a married woman in a hotel in Benin City. He died at one of the hotels in the Government Reservation Area, Benin City.The incident, according to reports happened at about 1pm. A son to the deceased who did not give his name said his father left home 45 minutes earlier. The son said they were called by the police to come to the Benin Central Hospital only to see the dad’s corpse. Doctors on duty said David was brought stone dead to the hospital. The woman was also present at the hospital but policemen ferried her away to prevent her from being mobed. The corpse was deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary.

Long queues of vehicles piled up at petrol stations across Nigeria on Monday while commuters were left stranded at bus stops as a fuel shortage hits hard. Petrol marketers and tanker drivers blamed the shortfall on a delay in the approval of fuel import permits by the state-run oil firm — and warned that the situation could take weeks to resolve. They called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), accused recently by the former central bank governor of defrauding $20 billion in oil revenue, to make petrol reserves available.
