Bird turns to old woman in Lagos

LAGOS — Residents of Ajegunle area of Lagos were, yesterday, thrown into shock, after a bird was said to have transformed into an old woman who confessed to being a witch. The dark-complexioned nonagenarian with tribal marks, who spoke in Yoruba, told a bewildered crowd that she was on her way back to Ibadan, Oyo State (as a bird) when she missed her track. Beggar gets 7 years in prison for attempting to kidnap a child in Lagos

in Share A beggar in Lagos has been sentenced to spend the next 7 years in prison after he was found guilty of attempted kidnap. 38-year-old Aminu Hamisu had already managed to lure the child in question out of the premises of a primary school but was spotted just in time by a neighbour. ‘How we were repeatedly raped by 9 Fulani herdsmen’ – 15-year-old girl, 2 others narrate horrific ordeal

A 15-year-old girl and 2 housewives in Benue are said to have suffered a horrific experience after being gang-raped by 9 Fulani herdsmen. The 3 unnamed women are said to have been raped at gunpoint in Tse Ikyuer, Yandev, Mbagwen in the Guma Local Government Area of the state. 24-year old lady die in mysterious circumstance

Palpable grief and anxiety has gripped Uhuala, Umuada community in Avutu, Obowo local government area of Imo State, as 24-year old Miss Chioma Onukwuwe mysteriously died not long after a bird reportedly perched on her head. Reacting to what some villagers called “this bizarre incident”, the grief-stricken father of late Chioma, Mr. Humphrey Ojimmadu Onukwuwe, resisted the temptation of pointing accusing finger on anybody, since he could not at the material time, know of any one who could plan such evil against his family. “Whosoever was responsible for the untimely death of my daughter, will definitely have questions to answer before God, the creator of this universe”, Onukwuwe said. Police say 46 people killed in Jos bomb blasts

At least 46 people were killed when two car bombs ripped through a busy market in the central Nigerian city of Jos, police said on Tuesday. Plateau state police commissioner Chris Olakpe told reporters that 45 others were injured in the blasts, which happened in the New Abuja Market area of the city. Also the Plateau State Government says it is “not in a hurry’’ to release the casualty figures from Tuesday afternoon’s two bomb blasts which hit the Terminus Market in Jos. “The casualty figures have not been ascertained because the figures are still being collated from various hospitals,’’ the state’s Information Commissioner, Olivia Dazyam, told newsmen in Jos on Tuesday. She however said the figures would be made available “as soon as possible’’. Suspected Female Ritualist Set Ablaze By Mob In Abule Egba {Photos}

The woman pictured above was accused of attempting to kidnap three primary school pupils in the Ekoro area of Abule-Egba, Lagos yesterday May 6th. Eye-witnesses claim the woman stopped the kids, who were aged 7-10 years as they were going to school, and asked to take them to school. Then a female hawker in the area, suspecting the woman was up to no good, alerted others in the area who then surrounded the woman and started asking her questions. They say the woman claimed they were her children but couldn't give their names and the direction she was taking them wasn't where their school was...plus the children said they didn't know her and before anyone could stop it, they descended on the woman. Beating her to a stupor and then setting her ablaze.
