IT was a shameful death for a 70 years old man identified as David, yesterday, when he slumped and died after having marathon sex with a married woman in a hotel in Benin City. He died at one of the hotels in the Government Reservation Area, Benin City.The incident, according to reports happened at about 1pm. A son to the deceased who did not give his name said his father left home 45 minutes earlier. The son said they were called by the police to come to the Benin Central Hospital only to see the dad’s corpse. Doctors on duty said David was brought stone dead to the hospital. The woman was also present at the hospital but policemen ferried her away to prevent her from being mobed. The corpse was deposited at the Central Hospital mortuary.

An 18-year-old girl and mother of one, Kate Ajie, has been arraigned before a Rivers State court over assault and child abuse   to her five-year- old daughter , Divine. The 18-year-old mother was said to have seriously beaten her five-year-old daughter to the extent that a concerned neighbour who accused the mother of constant maltreatment had to involve the police by taking the girl to the Divisional Police Officer , Mohammed Suleiman Baba on February 21.

Long queues of vehicles piled up at petrol stations across Nigeria on Monday while commuters were left stranded at bus stops as a fuel shortage hits hard. Petrol marketers and tanker drivers blamed the shortfall on a delay in the approval of fuel import permits by the state-run oil firm — and warned that the situation could take weeks to resolve. They called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), accused recently by the former central bank governor of defrauding $20 billion in oil revenue, to make petrol reserves available.
